RNLI Visit

Our meeting on the 17th October was another busy one. The Scouts and Cubs had a talk from a special visitor from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), who talked to us about the work of the RNLI and the coastguard; how to be safe on and near the water; what the flags on our beaches mean; and how we can get any help from the emergency services that we may need. We are sure that your children will be able to tell you all the things they have learnt next time you take a trip down to their pier or beach!

While the Scouts and Cubs were learning all about coastal safety and the RNLI, the Beavers were finishing off the final activities for the My Challenge award, so were also busy. Tying shoes, lighting candles safely, learning their home addresses and so on – all important things for young people to get to grips with!
