Following advice from the Government, The Scout Association and our local Scouting district, we must suspend any further Group meetings and events until further notice. We understand that, for many of you, our Group’s Thursday meetings are an important part of yours and your child’s routine, however this had been done in the interests of the welfare of all of our young members, volunteers and supporters.
Although we will not be able to meet, we all understand recognise that many of your children are keenly working towards badges and will be happy to assist with any parts of these awards that can be done at home until we can resume our programme. You can visit the ‘Programme’ page of our website to find our more about what we’ve been up to and had planned, or contact your child’s section leader for some tips.
Also, as schools continue to close and more of your children are loitering at home, why not encourage them to use their time well, put that iPad down and do some other exciting activities towards other badges? Discover the badges for your child’s section and see what catches their eye:
If your child does complete any extra badge work, please let us know which badge, which aspect of the badge and send us any evidence. Your child’s section leader will also be happy to support you with this.
Finally, If you are registered on an upcoming Scouting event with our Group, please seek advice from your child’s section leader if you have not already been updated. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Until we can resume our meetings, stay safe, use your time well and try not to run out of toilet paper!
